Crete Annual Seasonal Shopping Sales

Today July 15th, 2010 is the start of the annual seasonal sales in the shops in Greece and of course Crete. There is a great deal of nervousness among shopkeepers that with the depressed economy, no matter the huge discounts offered there will be fewer consumers taking up the attractive offers this year.

Up to 80 per cent discount is being advertised in some shops to clear stock - particularly in the clothes outlets.

Remember that under Greece's tough consumer laws a shop must refund (usually if returned within 7 days) the full amount, as long as the goods are not soiled and with their original receipt(s).

If you use a credit card for any purchase, be sure to check any special conditions attached to the sale of the item. The credit card may apply separate conditions than the retail outlet.

Be sure to check out the huge discounted offer in a shop window is reflected in the product in the shop itself on the shelves and the price is the same. Sometimes this does not happen. In this case the price in the shop window is to prevail. Although the point must be argued with an unscrupulous shop owner.
