Nomad operate from Peterborough and deliver principally to the Vamos area, I believe.

We used K & A when we moved over 3 and a half years ago

Would not recommend them as most of our furniture came dented and damaged like chair with only 3 legs etc,
And the owner would not do anything about it Cry

Jan 2012 at 19:08 Certainly when we came here 5 years ago there was no problem getting Nomad to pick up from Hampshire & deliver to Sitia. I assume they priced according to the distances involved, as well as on the contents of our house.

(To MartinP): Just a slight correction, Nomad covers the whole of Crete, not just the Vamos area. Also we cover the entire UK, not just Peterborough. Our warehouse is in Peterborough but we conduct removals all over the country, from Scotland to Manchester to Cornwall.

I think the source of the confusion is our "Crete Express" service, which is the parcel service that we operate - in this case the parcels ARE sent from Peterborough to Vamos in Crete. But this "depot-to-depot" approach is only used for parcels and very small consignments (such as say, 2 items of flat-packed furniture; or a single TV ordered from Argos; or just 3 boxes; or 2 suitcases etc) - we use the "depot-to-depot" approach for these small consignments only, to make it more cost-effective for our customers.

But the vast majority of our work is door-to-door removals to and from Crete, where we literally collect your goods from your home in the UK and deliver everything to your home in Crete (or vice versa). So please remember that Nomad can collect from and deliver to anywhere in the UK and anywhere in Crete

Jan 2012 at 15:28 I will verify what Nomad says our furniture was collected two years ago from the Welsh/Shropshire border and delivered to Hersonissos. The service was absolutely excellent, the staff very helpful and not a thing broken or scratched. And after shopping around they were the cheapest as well. Can't praise them enough.

Hi Steven
We're using Paul at Greek Island Removals, as per Peebees link above. He's moving us on Friday 20th Jan and has come recommended by others here. So far in the planning I've nothing to complain about. We're moving from Devon and even though GIR is Manchester based where we are moving from doesn't seem to a problem. Price isn't bad either.
